2. Gjipe – Wild camping

Gjipe is a good opportunity for a wild camping experience in Albania! This beach is located on the country’s southern coast and is a great place to camp if you want to escape the city noise.

The beach here is stunning and it’s a great place to relax, swim, and explore nature.

This is a popular, laid-back beach that is a 20-minute walk away. Some signs prohibit free camping on the beach, yet people still do it.

On the shore, there is also a ‘campground,’ so if you want to opt for something more official, you can do that.

If you have a 4-wheel-drive vehicle, you can drive onto the beach and stay overnight; otherwise, you can park in the car park overnight.

3. Orikum Beach – Wild Camping

You can also choose Orikum Beach as one of your destinations for Albania campsites. This beach is located in the country’s south and is a great place to do something different during the summer.

The beach here is stunning, and many other people will be camping. You are going to have the time of your life.

The beach camping Albania offers is much better than spending money staying at big resorts and hotels (although there are a lot of amazing hotels in Albania).

This small village is located in the north of the country, and it’s a great place to camp if you’re looking for fresh air and just nature.

The village is stunning, the residents are so welcoming, not to mention the food: everything bio! You can ask the locals where it is better to camp. And they will be happy to help you.

While in the area, be sure to check out the breathtaking Theth to Valbona hike, and explore some of the amazing things to do in Theth.

5. Benje Hot Pools, Permet – Wild Camping

This is one of my favourite spots in Albania! The Benje hot pools in Permet are one of the best Albania campsites.

This hot spring is located in the south of the country, and if you go there just for the thermal baths, get your bath suit and dive in the amazingly warm water pools.

Healthy for the body, for your mind! The hot spring is stunning, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding area.

6. Livadhi Beach – Wild Camping

Livadhi Beach is a vast stony beach near the beach city of Himare. It’s a laid-back neighborhood with stores, restaurants, and three campgrounds.

While there, you will see other vans parked on the beach. The water is incredibly pure, and some beautiful smaller bays are just over the hill. Perfect for a long vacation.

💡PACKING TIP: Make sure you bring a good snorkel, water shoes and a fast-drying towel for all of the beach-going you’re about to do!

7. Borsh Beach – Wild Camping

Borsh Beach is one of the top beaches in Albania. This beach is located in the south of the country, and it’s a great place to camp if you’re looking for a remote spot to get away from it all.

The beach here is amazing, with turquoise waters, sand, and delicious food at nearby beach restaurants, and it’s an incredible place to experience one of the Albania campsites.

Borsh has the longest stretch of beach in Albania so there’s plenty of room!

The Cape of Rodon is definitely a worthy spot for wild Albania campsites.

This cape is located in the north of the country, and it’s a great place to camp if you’re looking for a remote spot to get away from it all.

It’s worthwhile spending the night in the Osumi Canyons. However, the only method is by the tent. Before the river enters the beautiful gorges, you can easily camp on the (left) side of Osum.

But ensure the terrain is high enough to keep you safe if the weather worsens. 

Arriving in the valley, pitch your tent (keeping an eye out for sandy patches) and gather some fuel for the night.

There is also a colourful town nearby called Corovoda where you can grab supplies before you head out.

Camping Moskato in Himare is a great option for those seeking a more luxurious camping experience in Albania.

The camping spot and resort is nestled within the woodlands and offers many spaces for tents, caravans, and trailers, with equipment ranging from the most basic to the most luxurious and with all utilities.

All 60 of the wide pitches with green grass are wired for power.

Each caravan, camper, or tent is next to two groups of bathrooms equipped with washing machines, dryers, ironing boards, and a children’s bathroom.

In addition, they have constructed a children’s area, a playground, and a swimming pool. Even Camping Legjenda is one of the most visited Albania campsites in the north.

13. Lukove Beach – Wild Camping

Lukova beach is ranked high on my best Albania beaches list. I regularly visit this beach all throughout the year because it’s so beautiful.

This beach is great for solo travelers, families and those who just want to get away from the hustle of the cities.

It is a wide shoreline with sparkling turquoise sea and lights fine pebbles, so no special shoes are required.

The water’s entrance is extremely acute. During the peak season, it can get busy however, it’s nothing compared to some other beaches nearby.

Even though resorts occupy a substantial portion of the beach, there is still a reasonably large area with free access.

You can also walk further down either side of the main beach area and you’ll find secluded bays and truly wild camping spots.

Many water sports are also available, such as catamarans and jet skis. This is totally one of the best Albania campsites.
