If you have a blog and you feel stuck or confused as to what you should be doing next, then I want to point out what a blogging coach can do for your blog.
I have been blog coaching since January 2020 and whenever someone asks me what I can do for them they are often shocked, surprised and excited.
So, let’s talk about what a blog coach is first of all and what a blog coach isn’t.
A blogging coach is a mentor to help teach, guide, give you tools, recommendations and strategies to help with whichever aspect you are having trouble with.
A blogging coach will help with your overall blog, and may not help with social media etc. It depends on the coach and what they can provide and what experience they have.
A blogging coach is not someone who does the work for you. You are responsible for 90% of your results.
I can tell you what to do, but I can’t physically make you do it or make you take action. That’s not up to your blogging mentor – that’s up to you.
So, let’s look a bit deeper into how a blogging coach can help you and your blog.
1. A blogging coach can help accelerate your growth
It took me over 5 years to make traction with my blog because I wasted all of those years googling what to do, trying other peer’s strategies, failing, trying again and getting distracted.
A blogging coach can help you path a straightway to the finish line. If you try and figure it out by yourself, it may take you 10x longer.
I asked my clients how long it would have taken them to learn all that they have learned without my program (which is 90 days). Here’s what they had to say:
OVER 2 YEARS!! That is not uncommon at all either. At least 2 years googling, running in circles and being genuinely confused on what you need to focus on to grow YOUR blog.
A blogging coach can give you personalized advice to your blog.

2. Point out vital flaws in your blog
You may not know this, but there maybe some vital flaws within your blog.
Usually, we can’t see clearly what is wrong if we are in the blog, but having an outsider perspective on your blog can be a golden nugget.
There are many puzzle pieces to your blog, and for it to all come together and work sustainably, you need all of those pieces to be in alignment.
You can’t be doing awesome work marketing your blog on Pinterest but not have a clear niche. You can’t have a clear niche but not know anything about SEO. It just doesn’t work out.
You may have short term success, but unfortunately, you won’t be able to sustain it.
3. Give you the support you need
Blogging is hard. There are so many ups and downs that you may need the support from someone who has been through it all already.
I struggled for years, I tried all of the strategies, I felt defeated and disappointed in myself, and I wanted to give up many times.
That is part of the reason why I can support my clients so well because I know exactly how they are feeling. I can see the early signs of defeat.
Sometimes it can be necessary when you’re blogging for coaches to provide you with a boost.
I check in with my clients nearly every day. I can see what support they need and what nudges they need to keep pushing forward.
4. Keep you on the right path
Distractions, distractions, distractions. We all have them, especially in blogging.
Look, I get it. There are a million different platforms and strategies out there, but just because they are out there does NOT mean you have to do them.
A blogging coach can tell you whether you are on the right path or not, they can tell you to stop getting distracted, put your blinders on and stay on your path.
They can help carve that right path for you.

5. Keep you accountable
You say that you’re going to do something but you don’t do it. Well, a blogging coach will pick you up on that. They can keep you accountable for the things that you do and don’t do.
And when you tell your coach you are going to do something, you’re more likely to do it because you know that your coach is going to check in with you and if you haven’t done it, you’re going to feel bad.
A coach can challenge you and ask deeper about why you didn’t finish the project in the first place.
They can help you look deeper at the situation and help challenge you about the reason why you didn’t finish it.
6. Help you scale
Once you have the foundational parts to your blog and you can grow on autopilot, a blog coach can help you scale it to that next level.
I had a client who started blogging coaching with me early in the year and she is still signed to me so that she can get to that next stage.
She has now been featured in the largest NZ newspaper and is now freelance writing for one of the biggest travel bloggers in the world. How did she do this? By using my pitch template!

7. Help perfect your pitches
As I just mentioned, pitching is an important part of blogging. If you’re not putting yourself out there, you’re not going to get anywhere.
My client, Lee, used the pitch template within my blog program Revitalize Your Travel Blog and pitched to her favourite blogger and an online newspaper.
She heard two responses: both of them an emphatic “Yes!”
Not only did I give her the template, but my blog coaching services helped her perfect her blog pitch and what she can bring to the table.
8. Save you from major mistakes
There are some things you never do in blogging. But how would you know about those things if you don’t have a professional telling you about the dos and don’ts on what to do?
Blogging, for online coaches, is easier because we’ve already fallen into traps that held back the progress of our blogs.
Having made the mistake and learned from it, a blogging coach can save you from making some major bumps and hiccups on your blog.

9. Give you personalized advice
Depending on the program, a blog coach can provide personalized advice for your blog. This is something I will do in both blogging programs that I teach.
There may be something I teach that is not entirely applicable to another blogger and I will let them know ‘Hey, you don’t need to personally worry about this because…’. That is super valuable.
This is the reason, most of the time, you don’t see real results if you do a blogging course for example. Because not everything applies to everyone.
Someone may need a slight tweak in advice and a blogging coach can do that for you.
10. Give you tools and done-for-you templates!
Exactly what tools and templates you will get will depend on your coach, but they should provide you with learning tools to help you as much as possible.
I not only provide my clients with a full workbook in google sheets but also worksheets, done-for-you templates, pin templates, social media templates and MORE!
If a client asks me that they need a certain tool or template, I make it for them! The support and help you get is invaluable.
And again, for the people in the back. Here’s what a coach can and will not do:
- Do it for you
- Make you do what you need to do
A blogging coach can give you all the tools and support in the world, but if you don’t go further than learning and don’t take action, then you will never see results. Plain and simple!
