Whilst Tirana is one of my favourite cities, getting out of the main area and exploring more of Albania is what I always recommend to people travelling to Albania. Which is why I have created this guide to the best day tours from Tirana.

3. Ardencia and Apollonia

Ardenica Monastery and Apollonia are two of Albania‘s most popular historical sites. 

However, these attractions can be tricky to find, especially if you’re not renting a car on your trip.

These ancient ruins are a huge part of Albania’s history and this tour allows you to really soak up the culture that resides here.

Hiking is one of my favourite activities to do in Albania as there are so many natural landscapes to enjoy.

It is most well-known for Kruja Mountain and it’s challenging rocky terrain.

On the tour, you will also visit the the Old Bazaar which is filled with narrow streets and wooden houses.

8. Theth & Blue Eye Day Trip

If you are a nature lover, you will adore this tour!

If you visit Albania, you have to see the blue eye. It’s pretty much right of passage and such a fun activity.

Albania has many natural areas but the Blue Eye is one of the most famous and this tour will take you directly to it.

To get to the mountain, you will drive through Shkoder where you will discover untouched mountains, beautiful landscapes and wild rivers.

The tour begins at Konami Lake and you will take around a 1.5 hour boat ride to Shala River.
