Nestled in the middle of the historic town of Sighișoara lies a luxury accommodation option called Fronius Residence. Sighișoara ended up being one of my favourite places in Romania and partly because of this residence I stayed in. The building itself is a historical gem as it was built in 1609 giving you an inside look into how the residences back then would have looked like. Each room as a different style and is beautifully decorated.
My room was an absolute luxury. The bed was spacious and comfortable. The room overall had a homely feel to it. The bathroom was high quality, clean and very spacious too. My favourite part of this room was the hidden bar in the wall! Each room in the residence has hidden details just like this one that you can look forward to exploring when you stay!
Breakfast was included in the rate of the room at the Fronius residence and my was it impressive. From homemade chocolates, cheeses, meat, fresh bread and lots of authentic Romanian treats were part of the breakfast. As well as the buffet breakfast you can also order off their menu. I can highly recommend the smoked sausage, it was delicious! Another great part of this residence was the bar which had a cave feel to it. You can even find inscriptions from the 1800 and 1900’s in this bar.
The location was one of the top advantages of this residence. Situated right in the centre of the old town and it’s super easy to find. It’s only a quick drive to the likes of the train station. The clock tower is only a one-minute walk away and there are plenty of restaurants and bars to check out nearby too.
Fronius also have another property called Le Hansi, which is only a 20-minute drive away and is open during the spring and summer. It is situated in an old Saxton village called Criț and is popular with cyclers who travel from village to village. I was lucky enough to check it out while I was there. I am definitely going to come back in the summer and come stay here. I can recommend it if you are looking for another authentic Romanian experience. The rooms are all decorated as authentically as possible.
A big thank you to Fronius for having me and showing me Criț and Le Hansi. This stay was sponsored, however, as always, all opinions are my own and I would never recommend something unless I absolutely loved it!
