I’ve travelled to over 50 countries and I can confirm that you NEED the right luggage in order to have a peaceful holiday. As a frequent traveller, I’ve tried my fair share of suitcases, each promising to be the ultimate travel set.

But when I got my hands on the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set, it was an absolute game-changer and the set has truly exceeded my expectations.

Upon unboxing the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set in a stunning shade of green, I was immediately impressed by its sleek design and high-quality build. The hard shell is both lightweight and incredibly durable. I’ve had suitcases in the past that have been hard-shell and a lot heavier so this was a nice surprise.

From the moment I opened the box, I could tell that this was no ordinary luggage set.

The attention to detail was very obvious in every aspect, from the robust zippers to the ergonomic handles. The fabric inside the suitcase even feels luxurious!

It was clear that the designers had put a lot of thought into creating a suitcase that was not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.

As I get older I don’t only want something that looks pretty but also is very practical which this suitcase seems to be.

One of the standout features of this luggage set is the innovative wide-handle design. I actually have NEVER come across a suitcase that has these handles.

I was even video calling my family when I picked up and I switched the view to the suitcase and they too, hadn’t seen something like that before.

This unique feature maximizes the base for packing, providing more stability and ease of use.

The handles feel sturdy and comfortable, making manoeuvring through busy airports a breeze.

I actually travelled to Greece from Albania to pick up this set-up (Albania delivery problems!), so I got to test using this on the narrow cobbled streets of Greece and it held up very well and was easy to move.

The Voyguer set includes two suitcases: a 20-inch carry-on and a 28-inch checked bag (You can also get a 26-inch instead of the 28 if you want too).

Both sizes are well thought out, offering ample space for all your travel essentials. The interior is thoughtfully designed with a compression system to keep your belongings secure and organized, as well as a dry-wet separation pocket for added convenience.

This means you can pack your wet swimsuit and keep it separate from your dry clothes, which is a game-changer for beach vacations. And since I love travelling to warmer countries, this is a plus from me!

Another feature that deserves a mention is the 360° quiet spinner wheels. These wheels are designed for smooth and silent operation, which is a blessing when you’re trying to navigate through a crowded airport or a quiet hotel lobby.

The wheels glide effortlessly over different surfaces, including carpets, tiles, and ancient Greek cobblestones, making the suitcase easy to move.

I mentioned earlier that I travelled to Greece from Albania to pick up the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set so it’s officially already gone on its first trip.

Navigating through the narrow, cobblestone streets of Corfu was the true test of this luggage’s durability and manoeuvrability.

I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy the suitcases were. The wheels performed great, gliding smoothly over uneven cobblestones, ferries and narrow streets making it effortless to transport my belongings from one location to another.

One particular instance that stood out was when I had to rush to catch a ferry.

The streets were crowded, and I had to move quickly, dodging pedestrians and uneven pavement.

The Level 8 suitcase handled it all like a champ. The wide handle provided excellent control, and the sturdy construction meant that I didn’t have to worry about the suitcase tipping over or the wheels getting stuck which is the WORST.

Another feature I know a lot of my American readers will appreciate is the TSA-approved lock. This added a layer of security and peace of mind, knowing that my belongings were safe yet easily accessible for security checks.

The luggage set’s design also includes dual zipper pockets and expansive compartments, making it easy to stay organized and find what you need without having to dig through your entire suitcase.

I used to use the suitcase dividers but I actually don’t need to use them with these suitcases because they have a lot of compartments so it’s easy to stay organized.

The importance of a TSA-approved lock cannot be overstated. With increased security measures at airports, having a lock that can be easily opened by security personnel without damaging your suitcase is essential. It saves time and hassle, allowing you to breeze through security checks and focus on enjoying your trip. And this doesn’t just apply to my American folks but all over the world too.

Let’s talk looks.

The green colour of the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set is a refreshing change from the typical black or grey luggage.

I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I am again and again with the colour choices of luggage sets but this one I’m in LOVE with.

It’s unique and stylish, ensuring that my suitcases stand out on the baggage carousel. The overall look is modern and sophisticated, making it not just a practical choice but also a fashionable one.

The aesthetic appeal of the luggage is more than just about looks; it’s also about making a statement.

When you travel with the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set, you’re saying that you value quality and style.

The sleek design and vibrant colour make it easy to spot your luggage, reducing the stress of finding your bag in a sea of similar-looking suitcases.

They also offer this style in a yellow too which I would love to try next!

I’ve used several luggage brands over the years, including Kathmandu and National Geographic. While each of these brands has its strengths, the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set holds its own and, in many cases, surpasses them.

The combination of innovative design, durable materials, and thoughtful features makes it a standout choice. As I said, it’s practical but also aesthetically pleasing which I’ve struggled with before, but not anymore!

Compared to Kathmandu, Level 8 offers a more modern design and better manoeuvrability. The wide handle and spinner wheels provide superior control and ease of use.

National Geographic is known for its mark in the travel industry, but it comes with a lack of quality, unfortunately. I’ve used my suitcase a handful of times, and it’s already falling apart.

The Level 8 offers more durability and a premium feel without breaking the bank.

I LOVE when a brand can stand behind their products and Level8 does that. They come with a lifetime guarantee which is nearly unheard of these days.

This means that they really mean quality and put customers first.

One of the standout features of the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set is its impressive waterproof capabilities.

Whether you’re caught in an unexpected downpour or travelling to a destination with unpredictable weather, this luggage set ensures that your belongings stay dry and protected.

Every suitcase I’ve ever known has not had this feature so I’m very excited to finally have a waterproof suitcase set.

The high-quality Makrolon® polycarbonate shell is not only durable but also designed to repel water effectively.

One of the features that initially caught my eye with the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set is its anti-scratch surface technology.

Made from Makrolon® polycarbonate, this luggage set is not only lightweight and durable but also resistant to scratches.

The micro-diamond finish adds an extra layer of protection, ensuring that your suitcase looks as good as new even after multiple trips.

During my travels, I’ve had my fair share of scuffed and scratched luggage. It’s disheartening to see your stylish suitcase damaged after just a few uses. However, the Level 8 suitcases have maintain their sleek appearance despite being tossed around by airport staff, dragged over cobblestones, and stacked on various transportation modes. This anti-scratch feature is a significant advantage, particularly for frequent travellers who want their luggage to withstand the test of time.

My set is pretty new so I’ll have to update this as I use it more but so far so good!

When investing in luggage, it’s essential to consider how the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set stacks up against other brands in terms of price and features.

For instance, Samsonite’s Winfield 3 DLX Hardside Luggage Set, priced around $450 for a three-piece set, is known for its durability and reliability, featuring TSA-approved locks and spinner wheels.

However, while Samsonite offers quality, the Level 8 Voyageur provides a more modern design and unique features like the wide-handle design and anti-scratch surface, making it a competitive choice for frequent travellers.

In the higher-end market, brands like Tumi and Rimowa set the bar with luxurious materials and exceptional durability. Tumi’s Alpha 3 Expandable International 4-Wheeled Carry-On, priced at approximately $750, and Rimowa’s Essential Cabin S, costing around $650, are both significantly more expensive than the Level 8 Voyageur.

Despite their high price tags, these brands offer premium features and a luxury feel.

However, the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set matches their durability and style, featuring a resilient Makrolon® polycarbonate shell and a sleek, modern look, all at a more affordable price point.

The voyager luggage set is $490 which is such a great price for TWO suitcases.

This makes the Level 8 Voyageur an excellent investment for those seeking a balance between affordability and high-quality construction.

Although this set was sent to me to review, I will say there’s a couple of drawbacks.

Quite Large to Open

While the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set has many impressive features, it’s important to highlight a potential drawback: its size when fully opened.

When I picked up the suitcases I had to unpack them at the post office to then take them back to Albania.

The suitcase’s spacious interior, while fantastic for packing, can make it somewhat difficult to open fully in tight spaces. If you’re staying in a small hotel room or navigating through a crowded airport lounge, finding enough space to open the suitcase fully may be a challenge.

Although I’m not sure that this is a big enough con that would stop me from buying this as the amount of space in the suitcase balances this con out nicely.

It doesn’t fit some budget airlines’ hand luggage requirements

Firstly it’s always best to check with the airline but one thing I noticed when doing some research is that the 20-inch carry-on bag may be too deep for some budget airlines like Ryanair.

But it’s always best to check with the airline what their requirements are because nearly every one is slightly different!

To make the most of your Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set, here are a few travel tips and packing hacks:

  1. Roll Your Clothes: Rolling clothes instead of folding them saves space and reduces wrinkles. This method works exceptionally well with the compression system in the Level 8 suitcases.
  2. Keep Essentials Accessible: Use the dual zipper pockets for items you need to access quickly, such as travel documents, chargers, and toiletries. This saves time and hassle when you’re on the go.
  3. Utilize the Wet-Dry Pocket: This is perfect for storing items like swimwear or toiletries that might leak. It keeps them separate from your dry clothes and prevents any potential mess.
  4. Pack Heavy Items Near the Wheels: This improves the balance and stability of the suitcase, making it easier to move, although I didn’t have too much trouble with it for this one!
  5. Use a Luggage Tag: Although the green colour of the Level 8 set is distinctive, it’s always a good idea to have a luggage tag with your contact information in case your suitcase gets lost.

In conclusion, the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set has proven to be a top-tier in my opinion.

Its combination of style, durability, and innovative features makes it a standout choice for any traveller.

Whether you’re navigating the cobblestone streets of Greece this summer or gliding through airport terminals, this luggage set is designed to make your travels smoother and more enjoyable.

The sturdy build and beautiful design details have won me over, and I can confidently say that this luggage set is worth every penny.

If you’re in the market for new luggage, the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set is an investment that will elevate your travel experience.

Having used the Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set, I can wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow travellers.

Its resilience, capacity, and ease of use have made every journey more enjoyable. The peace of mind that comes with knowing your belongings are safe and secure is priceless.

The Level 8 Voyageur Luggage Set is not just about getting from point A to point B; it’s about doing it with ease.

From the moment you pack your bags to the moment you unpack at your destination, every aspect of this luggage set is designed to make your life easier and your travels more enjoyable.
