It just has so much potential and countless cool things to do. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Dubai has established itself as a leading cosmopolitan in not only the Middle East, but also the world. Sporting events of the biggest caliber are held in the city, with world-class names showing up year after year. Then you have movie festivals with Hollywood’s biggest stars walking the red carpet, not to mention music events and fashion shows.
Why does it do all A-list celebs find themselves in this gem of a city? Well, it’s got class, and it’s more luxurious than any other town in the Middle East. Everything is bigger and shinier and more expensive in Dubai. There are countless luxury activities to do in Dubai, where you can guarantee that you’ll only be surrounded by the crème de la crème of high society. If you should happen to find yourself one day in Dubai, and are in the mood for spending and pampering yourself, these are the must do luxury travel activities in Dubai.
1. Luxury safari
Sure, you could go in a 4×4 vehicle to the heart of a desert and enjoy camping like any ordinary citizen, but that’s no very luxurious, is it? When you’ve got the money, even something as simple as a desert safari can be upped a notch or two. Long drives in the desert till the camp site? Forget that. Why go by car when you can use a helicopter to take you to the perfect setting in the heart of the desert. It gets better. You can expect to find more than luxurious lodgings with a classical singer and a band possibly, in the heart of the desert! If you’ve felt like you’ve had your fill, then maybe you could go wild and take a ride back through the desert during sunset, or sunrise for that matter.
2. Stay in a luxury hotel
When you talk about luxurious accommodations, it doesn’t get any fancier than Dubai really. If the city can host the likes of Will Smith and George Clooney, then it’ll most probably be able to accommodate anyone. The number of 5- and 7-star hotels in the city are just absurd, and they’re even more luxurious than most other hotels of the same caliber that you can find else in the world. Where else are you going to get a view like the one you’d get if you stayed at Burj Khalifa? Or maybe you need a little water in the view; perhaps try out Jumeirah? The options are endless.
3. Luxury yacht cruise
Fancy a view of the city from the sea? Say no more. You can easily get a luxury cruise on a yacht that would definitely change your views on the word ‘cruise.’ Expect fancy dining rooms, hotel-like bedrooms, open reception areas, and the whole jazz. If this isn’t living large, then what is?
4. Rent a car
No, make that rent a super car in Dubai. We’re not talking Toyotas and BMWs, more like McLaren and Ferraris and the type of cars you only see in Fast and Furious movies. You’d be surprised how fun it is to roam a desert city with streets as awesome as Dubai in a car that could go from 0 to a 100 in 3 seconds, you know? These are the cars you could only dream of or see on TV, but in Dubai you can rent one for a whole day or more. And it’s not even that expensive. Renting one of these would cost in the range of $1000 per day. Not bad for a million dollar car.
5. Take a city tour… on a plane
Traffic bothers you? Cool, you could rent a private helicopter and discover the beauty of Dubai from way above. With Dubai, there’s not much you can’t do if you have the proper resources. How cool would it be to watch a desert rally from a plane? If your answer is very cool, then perhaps Dubai is a place you might want to visit.
One thing you’ll never get enough from in Dubai is the shopping. You can shop till the bank forecloses your house because of credit card debt, and still you’ll be back for some more. The city has the world’s biggest mall, Dubai mall, and in it you’ll find any brand you can ever dream of. It’s even said that Dubai mall has more visitors than New York city every year! That should give you an idea on how much people enjoy shopping there. And Dubai Mall isn’t even the only cool one in town; there are countless others with other options.
7. Skiing and parachuting
If you happen to be more of the adventurous type, then you’re in luck. There are plenty of cool, adrenaline pumping things to do in Dubai. Ever wanted to try parachuting, but never had the chance? Well, if you happen to be in Dubai, then the chance has come to your doorstep. Dubai is well known for skiing and parachuting activities. You’ll not be disappointed if you jumped off a plane with the deserts below you, that’s for sure.
8. Luxury dining
If you happen to be in Dubai with your significant other, rest assured the city could offer you a dining experience the likes of which you’ll never experience again in your life. How does a private dinner on the Burj Al Arab helipad, with a view overlooking the entire city? Money can buy you that and much more in Dubai. This is but one option of the plenty you could enjoy in Dubai.
9. Stable tour
Home to some of the world’s finest and most expensive Arabian horses, Dubai is heaven for horse lovers. However, a visit to the private horse stables are not something any person could do. They’re intentionally reserved for the elite, and for enough money, you could easily explore the beauty of these stables and live your Wild West dreams for a few hours.
Once in a lifetime experience
Truth is, all these activities above have probably just scratched the surface of what can be done in Dubai as a form of luxury. The city has millions of cool things to do, and with enough cash on you, the sky’s the limit. Your bank account might suffer and hate you by the end of the trip, but at the end of the day, how many times do you really get to visit Dubai?
