How I Earned $2,500+ With Stay22 (My Honest Stay22 Review)

It’s been over one year since I added Stay22 to my site, so I want to give you my honest review of whether it’s actually worth it.

I’ll be straight with you, I didn’t get results straight away.

I put the code on my site, set everything up, and then basically left it for months without posting anything new, because I’d paused my blog for a while.

Unsurprisingly, I wasn’t earning much because my blog posts were losing traffic and rankings fast.

Then in summer 2026 I started posting a lot more and adding new content again, and that’s when my income from Stay22 actually started climbing, by 1,100%!

I also started to optimize old posts to make them relevant again.

So whether you’re a brand new blogger or an established one wondering if Stay22 is worth adding, here’s what a full year with it actually looked like for me.

TL;DR: Yes, Stay22 is worth it. It’s genuinely passive income once it’s set up properly, but you need to actually be posting content for it to earn anything meaningful. Try Stay22 here →

How Stay22 Actually Works

Stay22 is basically a script you add to your site, and they give you clear instructions to do it yourself.

If you’re not confident doing it, you can actually get Claude to install it for you using the dispatch feature, so you don’t need to touch any code at all.

The Stay22 dashboard Create Your Script page, where you generate the script to identify and swap links on your site.

Once the script is live, affiliate links get added automatically, and the tool reads what a reader is already searching for and interested in and matches them to the right hotel or tour.

It also matches that to whatever your blog post is actually about, so it all works together rather than just guessing.

That auto-matching is exactly what made monetising years of old, unlinked posts actually manageable for me.

Stay22 vs. Travelpayouts

One of Stay22’s competitors is Travelpayouts, and I actually use both.

I turned off the Booking.com affiliate inside Stay22 and run that through Travelpayouts instead, because I found I earned more money that way.

Some programs aren’t available on Travelpayouts, and some aren’t available on Stay22 either, so having both running is genuinely worth it rather than picking one over the other.

That’s different from joining a dozen individual programs though, which was one of the money mistakes I made early on.

Does It Slow Down Your Website?

It hasn’t slowed my site down at all, but you should always double-check after adding any script like this.

My tip here is to put your website URL through a speed and connection audit after adding it (you can get Claude to do this for you too) and fix anything that’s actually causing a slowdown, rather than assuming Stay22 is the problem if something feels off.

My Honest Drawbacks

The payout system is the thing I like least about Stay22.

It’s not automatic, you have to actively request your payout every 30 days, and once you’ve requested it, it takes another 30 days for the money to actually land.

I’ll admit I forget to request it sometimes, so my tip is to put a recurring reminder in your calendar or project management system so you don’t lose track of it.

The other drawback is that it can look a bit intense on your site at times.

I also run Mediavine alongside Travelpayouts and Stay22, and combining all three occasionally causes some odd pop-up behaviour.

It’s worth checking your site every now and then just to make sure the user experience is still good and it isn’t too much for your readers.

Consistent posting matters here too, my own income dipped hard once AI overviews cut into my traffic and I’d paused publishing for a while.

Is Stay22 Worth It?

A Stay22 dashboard chart titled Transactions showing transaction volume climbing over the last 12 months, from under 10 in the early months to a peak of around 70.

If you’re still nervous about trying it, just commit to two months and see how you feel.

I say two months because you need to give it real time, even though you can technically start earning from day one as soon as it’s installed.

It’s a great option for bloggers just starting out because you can start earning immediately, and it’s just as good for established bloggers looking for extra passive income, because it really is passive once it’s running. Try Stay22 here →
