3 Unforgettable Things to do in Antalya, Turkey

Antalya, on the Turkish Riviera, is a sought after destination known for its gorgeous climate, balmy beaches and many relaxing resorts. There are many things to do in Turkey, and visiting Antalya is one of them! The turquoise waters around the region are particularly loved by travellers. Wondering what to do in Antalya? Try out one of the following activities and you’ll be sure to end the day with a smile on your face!

3 Unforgettable Things to do in Antalya, Turkey!

3 Unforgettable Things to do in Antalya, Turkey

1. River Rafting in Koprucay National Park

Against the dizzying backdrop of the Taurus mountains, join a whirlwind rafting adventure through gorges, rapids and cyprus trees on this full-day adventure. A fast and exciting way to see the Turkish countryside, river rafting is not for the faint of heart.

Never rafted before? Don’t worry – with the help of an expert guide, you’ll learn the skills needed to master the river in no time. Initial training completed, you’ll set off down the river on a spectacular adventure. If you plan on doing this during your holiday, make sure to bring the right clothing (a pair of shoes that you don’t mind getting wet as well as a change of clothes).

Top tip: leave your camera and smartphone at home. You won’t have much time to take photos and you wouldn’t want to lose any precious gadgets in the river.

2, Classical Wonders by Manavgat Falls

The river Manavgat, with its fast-flowing falls, runs alongside the city of Side, one of the best-loved ancient sites in Turkey. This means that the area is great for people who want to see a variety of natural and cultural attractions on a short day trip. But make sure not to rush around this beautiful place!

Take time to explore the ancient theatre in Side, which is the largest example of its kind in the region. There are also incredible Roman Baths in the town, which have been converted into an archaeological museum housing many rare and ancient treasures. After a blissful morning of sightseeing, take yourself off to the Manavgat Falls for a scenic picnic.

3. Sunken City Boat Trip

Take a fascinating tour of the submerged ruins around Kekova Island on your trip to Antalya. Through the clear, turquoise waters you will catch shimmering glimpses of stone stairs, house walls and other structures long ago lost to the sea. Once a busy trading centre, Kekova’s haunting beauty still makes it one of the most visited places in the Mediterranean. If you are a diver you can get special permission to explore the ruins, but for those who simply want to swim in this lovely setting, you are more than welcome.

If all this sounds bit adventurous, Antalya is home to thousands of waterfront restaurants and funky beach bars. Sit and enjoy some delicious Turkish food alongside the water without getting wet!  You will find details of all kinds of things to do in Antalya from your holiday provider – always book early and choose wisely! Enjoy travelling to Antalya.

Thanks for the tips. I have only been to Istanbul so this part of Turkey is completely foreign to me. Loved the photos and also someday hope to make it there and enjoy the waters which look amazing.

Love water falls and would most likely spend the day at Manavgat Falls, It’s so interesting to me that there are Roman Baths everywhere around the world, they sure were into their luxury baths 🙂 The history would be fascinating to learn about.

What a beautiful corner of the world! And it’ so nice to read something so positive about Turkey. I particularly like the sound of the submerged ruins around Kekova Island, what a very cool thing to see. I guess you can snorkel there if you don’t get the permit to dive?

Now you made me want to go back to Antalya! Such a beautiful place, but I forgot about the beach and sea scene – I concentrated on history and culture on my trip there.
